In the industry: 16 Years

I am a Senior Asset Supervisor at Technicolor Games. Born into a family of artists in Madras (Chennai), I have been drawing and painting since my early childhood. I began my career working with my father, who worked for over three decades as an art director in the film industry. Following in my father’s footsteps I worked as an assistant art director on over ten films.

My journey

My first job was as a trainee in 2006 at DQ Entertainment, this is when texturing became my focus and then when I had the opportunity to work on the Fantastic four project for several months texturing become my core strength, this then gave me many more opportunities in games.

I joined Technicolor Games as a Texturing Artist in 2008, and the opportunity was to work on multiple projects, multiple Engines, AR& VR shows, and one of the big titles such as Warhammer Online. I am proud to have been a part of some of the most prestigious projects from EA including FIFA.

As the Games industry continually grows and evolves, I decided to develop my skills further and I took a short career break to pursue my M.Sc. in game design in. I gained invaluable knowledge in game design, gameplay, level art, pre-production, and postproduction of games.

As a Senior Asset Supervisor in the Games Department, I have been given exposure to all areas of the discipline such as AR & VR projects, level buildings, cinematics, game art, and engines, Team management, and client communications. I also work closely with our clients; our relationships’ collaborative nature is always enjoyable.

As my interest in drawing and painting grew, I began converting my drawings into 3D worlds, and my love for working in this field has continued to evolve into building new virtual worlds. I also enjoy watching movies, playing badminton, and playing cricket.

For me -“Art is not what you see but what you make others see”

Technicolor Games has given me incredible opportunities to pursue my passion for game asset creation, environment level building, and game engines. From a various range of styles to the evolution of our tools and pipeline exploration. I can proudly say that Technicolor Games & the  leadership team have played an important role in my professional development.
